In summer, nothing makes you feel better than cold face masks. Here, by cold I do not mean chilled, I mean using natural cool ingredients on your skin that will no way interfere in your body heat and give you a nourished and beautiful skin. Yoghurt is one cold ingredient that not only is cool by nature but can also be beneficially used chilled! Here are some easy and effective yoghurt face mask recipes you should probably try this burning summer:
SUNBURN RELIEF FACE MASK
Add a few drops of soothing chamomile essential oil to about a handful of organic yogurt. Rub the calming concoction over your sunburned skin and let it sit for 10 to 15 minutes before rinsing it off.
ANTI-AGING FACE MASK
Add a tablespoon of olive oil to three to four tablespoons of yogurt. Apply the mixture to your face for about 30 minutes, three times a week.
EXFOLIATING FACE MASK
Thoroughly mix 2 tbsp yoghurt, 1 tbsp oats and 1 tsp honey in a bowl. Scoop some and start scrubbing on your face, gently spreading the mixture in a circular motion. Allow it to set for 10-15 minutes before washing it off with warm water. Use a warm washcloth after to clean any bits of oats left.
REVITALIZING FACE MASK
Mix 1 teaspoon plain yogurt with the juice from 1/4 slice of orange, some of the orange pulp, and 1 teaspoon aloe. Leave the mixture on your face for at least five minutes before rinsing it off.
ANTI-ACNE FACE MASK
Make a mask of yogurt with some turmeric powder, sugar and sandalwood powder. Massage this paste gently into acne-prone areas and let it sit there for 15 minutes, and then rinse it off with cold water.
