DIY – Upcycle old jeans

Ever wondered what to do with the old jeans taking space in your closet? Denims are expensive and can last for years, throwing them off is definitely not a good option. Hence, this is what I do.

Turn your jeans into shorts.

Method :

Pre-Shrink: Wash and Dry your jeans first before alternation. This is important to get the correct measurement as jeans tend to shrink after a wash.

Decide the length: The length of your shorts in measured inseam. I prefer the length to be slightly above the knee or falls at knee. Allow 1” extra length to create the fold or 2” if you planning to roll up.

Cut off : For jeans with 32” waist size the ideal length is 10” inseam (slightly above the knee). If you wish to hem the edges, then the cut off needs to be at 11”, if you wish to cuff the edges then cut it off at 12“. You need to allow 1/2 “ folded up twice to create a seam.

Try it on..!!. Match your perfect Jeans shorts with a pair of white sneakers and black t-shirt for a relaxed casual look.
