SOFTEN CLOTHES WITH SALT

Got a new shirt but do not like the stiff cloth? Clothes if starched or if brand new can look stiff and feel rough. There are a lot of laundry conditioners and softeners in the market but we all know that they contain toxic synthetic ingredient in them. Looking out to detoxing your laundry routine? Try this all natural and inexpensive way to soften clothes with salt!

SOFTEN CLOTHES WITH SALT

Salt soak- If you have got a new shirt and find it rough and stiff or if using excessive starch has made your clothes rough, try soaking it in salt solution pre wash. Add 1/2 cup table salt to 1 tub-full of water and soak clothes in it for 2 days. Wash it as usual.

Salt laundry detergent- you can make your own salt washing soda that can clean as well as soften your clothes at the same time. Simply add 1/2 cup salt and 3-4 tablespoons baking soda to 1 cup of borax. Stir and your homemade salt laundry detergent is ready! Use it just as any other laundry detergent.

Salt vinegar soak- In a tub-full water, add 1/2 cup salt and 1/2 cup white vinegar. Soak your clothes in it for a day and then wash it as usual.
