Collars are something that gets stained easy and quickly. Even if you wear a new shirt just for a day, you will find a yellow ring on the inner collar. These are nothing but stain marks resulted from sweating. The more the friction, the darker is the stain/ring around the collar. It is very necessary to clean it as soon as possible or it can turn into permanent marks. Here are some easy ways to remove collar stains:

Before tossing your clothes in the washing machine, soak your clothes and scrub it. Soak your clothes in warm soapy water for an hour and scrub the collar using toothbrush. Now toss the clothes in washing machine and the collars will come out clean.

Lemon is the nature’s best bleaching and cleaning agent. Soak the collar in water or just make it wet and rub a lemon on it. Place the cloth under direct sunlight for 2 hours and then toss it in washing machine or wash it as usual. The lemon and sunlight work directly on the stain and bleaches it. Plus, lemon will make your collar smell fresh and will kill and sweat odour.

Baking soda is a great sweat stain remover. Mix baking soda with water to make a thick paste. Rub this paste on the collar and scrub it with your fingers for some time. Keep the baking soda paste on the stain for 1 hour and rub it off. Repeat if you still see dark stains. If the stains have lightened, toss it in washing machine and the stain should completely come off.

Shampoo can remove greasy and oily stains easily since it is meant to be used on the hair. Collar stains are usually as a result of sweat which comes under greasy stain category. Simply pre-soak the cloth in shampoo solution for 1 hour and brush out the collar using cloth brush. Wash as usual.
