There are a lot of things in our house that get rusty overtime- garden tools, toys having metal parts, taps, screw drivers, keys, locks etc. Rusted tools are not safe to use since tetanus causing organism resides in such places. Instead of just throwing away the rusted stuff, you can actually clean it using simple home ingredients in no time. Here are few tricks to remove rust naturally:


Coco cola has high acidic content and is oxidizing in nature. Due to this reason, it can easily remove rust from any damn surface that too easily. All you have to do is pour coco cola on the rust and let it sit for some time and then scrub it away. You can also soak small rusted items on coco cola. For hard to remove rusts, grab a rough cloth and soak it in coco cola and rub it vigorously on the area.


Vinegar is a common household item and it can effectively be used to remove rust. All you need to do is dilute vinegar and make it 70%. Soak all the rusted items in it. The duration of soak will depend upon how rusty the item is and for how long is it been rusted. The rust will start to flake off and after you scrub it, it will be clean.


Simply mix up borax and lemon to make a paste. Apply this paste on the rust and let it sit for about 30 minutes. If you feel the paste is drying out a bit, you can spray some water o it in between. Finally, take a brush and scrub it off and the rust will come right off with it.


The acidic juices in potato helps lift off the rust from surfaces. Simply cut a potato in half and sprinkle some salt on it. Rub this potato on the rusted area and do this until the rust comes off. The acidic nature of potato loosens the rust from surfaces and the salt scrubs it away. Repeat as needed.
