We always use washing machine to clean our clothes and stuff, but do you ever clean your washing machine? Washing machine can get dirty and develop mould overtime and can inturn make your clothes dirty. Do you still smell your clothes pungent even after washing in the washing machine? Its time you need to deep clean your washing machine. Here is how you can deep clean your washing machine:
CLEAN THE CYCLE
You need 2 cups vinegar, 1 tablespoon baking soda and 1 cup water. Mix baking soda in the water and add this solution in the detergent container of your washing machine. Pour the vinegar into the drum and run the cycle into the hottest setting. The vinegar and baking soda solutions will break up mineral deposits and inhibit any mould growth.
Take some baking soda and add little water to it to make a paste. Apply the paste on the opening of front load, on the nicks and corners and open surfaces that need cleaning. Let the baking soda paste sit for 15 minutes and scrub the area using sponge. For smaller areas and hard to reach places you can use a toothbrush for scrubbing.
CLEAN BUILT IN DISPENSERS IF ANY
Built in dispensers can get grimy and slimy overtime. To clean them, all you need is 1 cup of white vinegar. Warm the vinegar in microwave or a saucepan and pour it into the dispenser. Allow it to sit for few minutes and then run the longest cycle.
Once you are done cleaning the washing machine internally, now it’s time to clean it externally. You need 2 microfiber cloths and a spray cleaner. Dip one microfiber cloth in water and squeeze and wriggle it. Firstly, wipe the entire machine externally using a dry cloth or a duster. Now spray cleaner over surfaces in sections and wipe it using a wet cloth with scrubbing movements. Finish off with dry microfiber cloth. Repeat until you cover the entire washing machine.
