Charcoal is widely used these days for hair care, skin care and health. It is a wonder ingredient that can be used both internally and internally. It has adsorption properties that take away the toxins along with it, thereby cleansing the surfaces (internal and external). Charcoal can also be used for oral care since it can effectively detox the mouth and cleanse it.

- Here is how you can make a homemade charcoal toothpaste:
To make this simple charcoal toothpaste, you need 4 tablespoons coconut oil, 10 drops peppermint essential oil, 2 tablespoons baking soda and 1 teaspoon charcoal powder.
Take coconut oil in a bowl and add peppermint essential oil to it. Mix it thoroughly and add charcoal powder to it followed by baking soda. Mix the contents properly until you get a thick paste. If the coconut oil is runny or not solid, you may add more baking soda or very little melted beeswax to it and whisk.
You need ½ c. filtered water, ¼ c. bentonite clay, 3 tbs. coconut oil, 2 tbs. calcium powder, 2 tablespoons charcoal powder, ¼ tsp. baking soda and 10 drops peppermint essential oil.
Mix up all these ingredients in a food processer until you get a thick and smooth paste. You may add little water to it to adjust the consistency. Store this for 3 months in a glass jar. To use, take little amount on your toothbrush and use as usual.
To make this toothpaste, you need 2/3 cups baking soda, 1 tablespoon charcoal powder, 1 teaspoon sea salt, 10 drops peppermint essential oil and 10 drops clove essential oil.
Start with mixing baking soda and salt in a bowl. Add charcoal powder to it and mix again. Now start adding water little by little until you get a desired paste like consistency. When you are done, add peppermint and clove essential oils to it and mix again. Store this toothpaste in a jar and use as and when required.
