Bugs and insects are a very common problem these days, be it any kind of bug/insect. Ants especially can be seen almost in every home and the problem is that once they make colonies, it can be tough to stop them! Many commercial insecticides and insect repellents contain poisonous ingredients that are toxic to humans. Below are some recipes for safe and easy-to-make homemade ant killer:

Peppermint essential oil is a potent repellent for ants. To make a powder for repelling ants, simply grab ½ cup of baking soda and peppermint essential oil. In a bowl, add baking soda and put 10 drops of peppermint essential oil to it. Mix it well and store in an air-tight container. Whenever you see red ants colonizing, sprinkle the baking soda mixture over them and they should be gone in no time. If you do not have baking powder, you can also use talcum powder.

In a world full of biological pesticides and insecticides which don’t work very well, orange oil stands out because it wipes out or repels entire colonies, and prevents re-infestations. To make an easy spray, simply add 1 cup water to a spray bottle followed by 1 teaspoon of orange essential oil and 2 teaspoons of witch hazel. Whenever you see red ants colonizing, simply spray the prepared insecticide over them.

This easy spray is highly effective and is super easy to make. Simply add 2 tablespoons of dish washing liquid to 1 ½ cups of water and fill it in a spray bottle.  Spray it directly on the ant colonies, grab a paper towel, wipe them and toss.
