Dry cuticles are a common problem especially if you work a lot in water or in the kitchen. Household chores can certainly make your cuticles dry. This condition is sometimes painful due to peeling or cuticles and frequent fidgeting only worsens it! I was a nail biter for years but got rid of the habit 7 years back, and along with nails I always used to pick at peeling cuticles which caused a lot of pain. Cuticles peel due to dryness and when you don’t regularly moisturize it. Here are some easy ways to get rid of those dry cuticles:
Aloe vera gel moisturizes your cuticles and soothes inflammation. It also has a cooling effect on the skin. It is antimicrobial that keeps infections at bay and helps peeling cuticles with regular usage. Take out fresh gel from the aloe vera leaf and store it in a tiny jar to keep it handy. Rub it on the cuticles multiple times a day and do not rinse it off. More: Heal damaged cuticle >>
Coconut oil is a Holy Grail product which is a well-known skin moisturizer. It moisturizes cuticles very well and also stops the peeling. Simply apply coconut oil onto your nails and cuticles before bedtime and you can also wear hand gloves for good results.
Apply warm olive oil generously over the cuticles and hands and wear cotton hand gloves. Go to sleep and wake up to soft and moisturized hands and cuticles. Follow this every night to completely get rid of dry and peeling cuticles.
Take almond oil in a bowl and add the essential oils of your choice to it. Mix it well and store in a bottle. Use it after bath on your nails and cuticles and massage until it gets absorbed.
