Gas and bloating is a sign that food is not being digested correctly by the body. When gas doesn’t pass through belching or flatulence, it can build up in the stomach and intestines and lead to bloating. Cumin is a popular remedy for bloating since centuries and hold a markable position in old grandma remedies. People take cumin for digestion problems including diarrhoea, colic, bowel spasms, and gas. Cumin is also extensively used to increase urine flow to relieve bloating (as a diuretic). Here are some ways to use cumin for bloating:
CHEW RAW CUMIN SEEDS
When you have bloating or indigestion, chew on half a teaspoon of cumin seeds until they become a paste in the mouth, then swallow with a glass of warm water. Aromatic cumin seeds have a stimulating, carminative and antispasmodic effect that can help dispel wind and intestinal cramps. Cumin seeds are also believed to relieve inflammation, pain and swelling, helping to encourage the healing of any sores in the mouth or throat, while freshening the breath.
Things you need: 1 cup water, 1 pinch ground ginger, 1 pinch ground cumin, 1 pinch sea salt and ½ teaspoon of fennel seeds.
Method: Bring water to a boil and place all other ingredients into the boiling water. Boil for about 5 minutes. Let the tonic cool and then drink. Your bloating will dissipate in a matter of minutes!
CUMIN, CORIANDER, AND FENNEL MIXTURE
Grind cumin, coriander and fennel seeds. Mix equal amount these seeds and take 1/4 teaspoon before meal. If eating the powdery mixture is not your cup of tea, add little water to it to make paste and have with little honey.
