HOMEMADE AFTER-SHAVE LOTION TO SOOTHE SKINShaving is certainly ignored by some who are prone to inflammation, redness and itching after shaving. An after-shave lotion is the must-have thing after shaving considering how soothing and essential it is for your inflamed skin! After-shave lotion soothes, moisturizes, cools and heals the just-shaved skin and since you are prone to nicks and cuts, it is essential that you use a natural product.

  • Easy to make
  • Free of irritating chemical ingredients
  • Safe for minor nicks and cuts
  • Soothes and heals the skin
  • Nourishing at the same time
  • Does not burn
  • Can be used by both men and women (on legs and stuff ofcourse!)

Here is how you could make a natural after-shave lotion;

Things you need: ½ cup coconut oil, ¼ cup olive oil, 1 tablespoon beeswax, ¼ cup aloevera gel, 1 ½ tablespoon witch hazel and 10 drops peppermint essential oil.

Method: To create the base for the lotion, measure and add the coconut oil and beeswax to a small heat-safe bowl. You can warm in short bursts in the microwave until the mixture has melted. Carefully remove the mixture from heat, and slowly add the soothing aloe vera gel and the witch hazel, which is a natural astringent. Give the mixture a quick blend with a hand mixer, and then carefully pour into a sealable pump container. You are done! Use it like a normal after-shave lotion.

Things you need: ½ cup apple cider vinegar or witch hazel, 2 tbsp distilled water, 1 tbsp glycerine, 2-3 vitamin e capsules and 6-10 drops rosemary essential oil.

Method: Place all ingredients into a spray or pump dispenser and shake until all mixed. Dispense as needed.
