ACNE SPOT TREATMENT USING ESSENTIAL OILS

Using home remedies and essential oils for acne can save you money, keep you healthy and help clear up your skin. Plus, they make you smell wonderful! When it comes to treating acne, Essential Oils offer a highly effective alternative to the use of tough chemicals contained in many acne creams and prescription medications. Whether used in full strength or diluted, topical application of Essential Oils can alleviate mild to moderate acne.

ACNE SPOT TREATMENT USING ESSENTIAL OILSHere are some essential oil blends you could use as a spot treatment to clear up acne; but before, let us see the right way to do a spot treatment:

THE RIGHT WAY TO DO A SPOT TREATMENT:

  • Always wash hands thoroughly before touching your face. You may also use Q-tips but they tend to soak excess oil.
  • Wash your face and avoid applying anything on it. You may wash your face with warm water to open up the pores.
  • With light fingers, jus dab the oil on acne without much pressure.
  • Sleep facing upwards.
  • Follow this routine until acne clears up.

ESSENTIAL OIL BLENDS/RECIPES:

RECIPE 1:

Essential oils you need: Tea Tree Essential Oil, Lemon Essential Oil, Grapefruit Essential Oil and Clary sage Essential Oil

Method: Mix up 20 drops of each essential oil (equal proportions) and store in a dark bottle. Use as and when required.

RECIPE 2:

Essential oils you need: 20 drops of Lavender Essential Oil, 30 drops of Lemon Essential Oil and 30 drops of Tea Tree essential oil.

Miscellaneous: ΒΌ cup Aloe Vera gel

Method: Take aloe vera gel in a bowl and add all essential oils to it. Mix it thoroughly and store in an air tight container. Use as and when required.

RECIPE 3:

Essential oils you need: 20 drops almond oil and 20 drops jojoba oil.

Method: Mix these oils and keep in a container. Apply as and when required.

CAUTION: be careful when applying undiluted essential oils to the skin – less expensive brands may cause a skin reaction because their quality is likely to be lower to keep costs down. The old saying is true – you get what you pay for!
