It is important to freshen up your home as it lifts up your mood and makes your house look and feel/smell great! You could freshen up your home by making small quick changes to the décor or by adding something that could make your home smell fresh and wonderful. Here are some ways or tips to how to freshen up your home:

Make it feel like spring inside no matter what it is doing outside! Fresh cut flowers instantly brighten your home, making it colourful and inviting. It is an easy way to introduce trendy colours that you don’t have to commit to forever. Besides, they make your home smell great too! You can change them out weekly to keep your look fresh.

Mirrors reflect light and, when used correctly, can create fantastic visual drama. Large options can be pricey, so visit your local thrift store or purchase inexpensive, unframed panels. Hang them across from or adjacent to windows to add depth to a flat space. Or, set them under or behind accents for an instant play on light.

Dilute five to 20 drops of essential oils in 2 cups of water, and fill a spray bottle with the solution. Spray the mixture into the air in the stuffy room to freshen it. Create your own blend of scents. Lavender, tea tree, citrus, peppermint and lemongrass are all naturally freshening.

Fill a spray bottle with distilled white vinegar. Spray any indoor surfaces that still smell, particularly if you notice mould or mildew spots on them. Vinegar kills mould and deodorizes. As the vinegar evaporates, its odour fades.

Throw pillows are inexpensive and easy to change out. You can refashion the entire colour scheme of a room with the just a few throw pillows. Remember, it is just an accent, so don’t be afraid of colour!
