Most of us have house plants. Not only do they work as home décor but have many other benefits!   House plants not only gives us fresh air to breathe or add a look to your house, but many plants are fragrant that can keep your home smelling good and also repel insects. People usually prefer fake plants considering the care live plants need; but live plants are always the best option when it comes to a healthy home. Live plants only need proper watering and sunlight and if you are worried about your plants weathering away when you are away, below are some tricks to keep them alive:

SIMPLE TRICKS THAT WILL KEEP YOU FROM KILLING YOUR HOUSEPLANTS

COOL PLACE

Before you head out, place your plants in a col location of your house away from direct sunlight.  You can maybe place them near widows with sheer curtains. This prevents drying of the soil and leaves keeping your plants alive for longer/until you are back!

ICE CUBE TRICK

If you are away for a day, you can simply add ice cubes to your plants. Place bigger sized ice cubes on the soil. Ice cubes melt slowly and gradually soil soaks in the water. Your plants should survive for a day this way!

KEEP THE PLANTS TOGETHER

Remember to group the pants together before you go away! Plants give each other shade and humidity that keep them alive and in healthy condition.

DIY BOTTLE IRRIGATION

This trick can be used if you are going away for say 2-3 days. Grab a bigger sized bottle and poke tiny holes on it. Bury the bottle next to the plant making sure the base is inside and open mouth is out. Just before you leave for the holidays, fill the bottle and secure it with lid. The water will slowly drip and seep into the soil and keep the plants alive until you are back.
