We love our lipsticks, but only on lips right? Modern lipstick is made with a variety of petroleum-based chemicals, natural oils, and man-made dyes. When lipstick lands somewhere other than lips, its dense colour can dye materials permanently. If you were applying lipstick and it broke or fell and stained your clothes, or if somebody has left a lipstick stain on your shirt, you’ll no doubt be interested in knowing how to eliminate these stains without damaging your clothes. Here are some natural and easy ways to remove lipstick stains:
TOOTHPASTE FOR CARPET STAIN
Apply some toothpaste to the clean cloth and rub it on and around the lipstick stain so that it’s evenly spread over an inch of the cloth. You can use any toothpaste that you have handy. Add toothpaste if you notice that it has spread too thin. As you scrub, you’ll see the stain gradually begin to lift off of the stained material and onto the cloth.
LIQUID DISHWASHING DETERGENT FOR CARPET STAIN
Another home remedy is to use a mild liquid dishwashing detergent. For this method of lipstick stain removal, dab on a little detergent, let it set for about 10 minutes, then gently begin working on the stain from the outside edges inward.
Just mix three parts water with one part glycerine and apply some of this solution to the lipstick stain, rubbing gently with a soft-bristled toothbrush. Once you see that the stain is fading, you can wash the item of clothing as you normally would.
You only need to dampen a cotton pad with a few drops of rubbing alcohol and gently rub the stain so it begins to fade. Finish by putting the garment in the washing machine and proceed to wash it according to the instructions specified on the label.
