Lightening the hair or putting highlights is a trend especially in the summer.  Bleach is one of the most important products at your disposal for achieving blonde hair, but what happens if you’re very sensitive to the product, or you simply don’t want to use it? When life gives you lemons, use it to lighten your hair or achieve some natural highlights! Lemons are the natural bleaching agents that work great when activated by sunlight which makes it a great hair lightener in summers. Below are some ways to lighten your hair with lemon:

LEMON TO LIGHTEN HAIRLEMON+HONEY

Honey is another ingredient that can lighten your hair naturally when used regularly.  Simply mix honey with lemon juice and apply it to the hair strands with a cotton ball before heading on to the sunny beach for that sun-kissed highlights. LEMON+SALT

Salt water and lemon together helps to lighten your hair. Add 1 tablespoon sea salt to 1 cup of water along with juice of 1 lemon. Spray it on your hair and scrunch. Leave it on got 30 minutes and shampoo as usual, this also works when used as a hair spray before heading onto the beach.

LEMON TEA

Boil 3 cups water and pour it in a cup. Add lemon peels from 4-5 lemons and let it steep for 15 minutes. Add the remaining lemon juice to it after water cools down. Your lemon tea is ready. Use this lemon tea as hair spray or hair rinse. Do not wash it off because you want it to stay on your hair and work.

LEMON RUB

Another easy remedy to lighten hair is to rub a slice of lemon directly onto the hair and keep it for 30 minutes before you wash it off.
