Sore throat is a first sign of upcoming cold, fever, bacterial infection or even strep throat. You can also get a sore throat with the change in weather. A sore throat is nothing but inflammation of pharynx which is the tube that extends from the back of the mouth to the esophagus. Sore throats, while very common, can be painful and uncomfortable.
Over-the-counter pain relievers such as ibuprofen or paracetamol will provide temporary relief from a sore throat. Lemon is believed to be a natural remedy to help with sore throats:
- Lemon works like an anti-biotic. It kills the bacteria or virus which causes sore throat.
- Lemon juice is anti-microbial and contains vitamin C that soothes a sore throat.
- A stronger immune system is required to fight with germs and bacteria that would otherwise harm our body. Lemon builds our immune system that kills the invading organisms that cause sore throat.
