Even if you take the best precautions, fabric sofas tend to get dirty. Fabric sofas attract dirt and dust like magnet thanks to the fabric threads that absorb and adsorb everything from dust to dirt. Cleaning fabric sofas can be a difficult task and most of the cleaning methods can do more harm than good. Here are some easy and simple ways to clean your soiled fabric sofa:

CLEAN FABRIC SOFA VINEGAR+HYDROGEN PEROXIDE

Before you begin, make sure that the sofa is not dark coloured as hydrogen peroxide can slightly lighten the colour. In that case, skip hydrogen peroxide and use just vinegar. So, the basic cleaning method goes this way- mix up vinegar and hydrogen peroxide; add 4 tablespoons of hydrogen peroxide to 50% vinegar diluted in water. Pour this in a spray bottle and give it a very good shake. Now, vacuum the sofa to clear any dust from it and spray this on the stains on your fabric sofa. Let it sit but do not let it dry. Blot with a paper towel and repeat until the stains come off. For regular cleaning, use just the vinegar all over the sofa and steam-vacuum it.

BAKING SODA

If your sofa is not very dirty but only little dusty, you can use baking soda. Sprinkle some baking soda on the sofa and keep it that way for an hour. Vacuum the sofa and your sofa will be clean and refreshed! It will also kill any odours or stink from your sofa.

VINEGAR+BAKING SODA

Vinegar and baking soda can be used to spot clean stains on your fabric sofa. Make a paste of baking soda and vinegar and keep it aside for few minutes until the foaming stops. Apply the paste liberally on the stain and let it stay overnight or for 3-4 hours minimum. The baking soda mixture will be dry and you can vacuum it easily. Your stain should be gone or you may repeat the procedure.
