Primer plays a very important role in makeup and it is essential to use it underneath for a flawless finish. Primer reduces the appearance of pores, smoothens put the skin and makes a perfect smooth canvas for application of makeup. There are a lot of primers available from decent as well as high end brands. Primers from decent brands don’t always work as they tend to make skin oily or can even cause breakouts by clogging pores. High end brands are very expensive and not all can afford. Here I am with a natural makeup primer which is easy to make and use and is inexpensive:
What you need- You need 1/3 cup of fresh aloe vera gel, ½ teaspoon coconut oil (only if you have dry skin) and some mineral powder or makeup setting powder.
Method: Remove aloe vera gel from 1 fleshy aloe vera leaf using a spoon. Collect the gel in a bowl and keep it aside. Melt coconut oil if using and add it to the aloe vera gel. Mash the mix properly until there are no lumps. It should be of a smooth creamy texture so that adding mineral powder will create a smooth spreadable paste. Now add mineral powder to it little by little until you get a good spreadable consistency. Store it in a jar and use it before applying any makeup.
What you need- You need 3 tablespoons lotion, 1 tablespoon BB cream and 3 tablespoon aloe vera.
Method: Scrape out aloe vera gel from 1 fleshy aloe vera leaf using a spoon. Collect the gel in a bowl and keep it aside. Whip the gel and make sure there are no lumps. Now add BB cream to it followed by a lotion that is water based and not oil based. Mix the contents thoroughly and fill it in a jar. Use it as and when required.
– No harmful ingredients
– Easy to make and works equally well as compared to commercial primers
– Tea tree oil can be added to the primer mix if you are prone to breaking out or if you have oily skin
– Almost any essential oil can be added according to your concerns
