Have you ever tried removing the sticky labels from bottles and left with gooey residue on it? We usually find ourselves in such tricky situations especially when the sticky stubborn residue just won’t bother to come off busy attracting dust and grime! Getting rid of the stickiness can be a serious pain; you may reach out to commercial cleaners but trust me, the below mentioned go-gone recipes work equally well or even better:
VEGETABLE OIL+BAKING SODA
Mix equal parts vegetable oil and baking soda. Mix the ingredients thoroughly and rub it on the sticky surface. Do this for 2-3 minutes and let it sit for another 5 minutes. Wipe everything off and use soapy water to gently scrub away the sticky residue.
BAKING SODA+COCONUT OIL+EO
To make this, you need 2 tablespoons baking soda, 1 tablespoon coconut oil and 5 drops orange essential oil. Combine all the listed ingredients in a bowl and mix everything well using a spoon. It should form a thick paste. Using a cloth, rub the mixture on the sticky residue gently until the surface comes out clean. Finally wipe the surface using wet cloth (if it is water resistant) and dry.
RICE FLOUR+VEGETABLE OIL
You need 2 tablespoons rice flour and 2 tablespoons vegetable oil. You may substitute vegetable oil with any oil that is available with you. Mix rice flour and oil thoroughly in a bowl till a paste is formed. Similar to the other methods mentioned, you have to scrub the paste on gooey surface for few minutes and then let it sit for additional 5 minutes. Wipe it off using cloth and dry.
WHEAT FLOUR+BAKING SODA+OIL
Combine together 1 tablespoon baking soda and 1 tablespoon oil (any oil would do). Mix it thoroughly until a paste is formed. Scrub the sticky surface with this mixture and let the residue soak in it for 5 minutes. Sprinkle wheat flour on it and scrub it using fingers. You are done!
