Eggs have been used since centuries for skin care. Egg yolk is made up of mostly water and fats, which makes it a great water-binding agent that locks moisture into your skin cells, leaving your face soft and supple. Egg-yolk face masks work wonders for people with dry or flaky skin. The nutrients in egg yolks work to hydrate, nourish, and moisturize dull skin. Here are two face mask recipes using egg yolk for beautiful and soft skin.

  • Moisturizes and nourishes the skin
  • Tightens pores
  • Rejuvenates skin
  • Easy-to-make recipes and can be customized according to your needs
  • Anti-aging
  • Reduces acne
  • All natural and no chemicals; make sure you buy organic eggs- ALWAYS!

Recipe 1

Things you need:

  • 1 egg yolk
  • Juice of ½ lemon

Take an egg and separate the yolk from the white. Add lemon juice and beat the egg yolk with a fork to mix it. Gently coat your face with the egg yolk, paying attention to avoid eyes. Allow to dry on your face for a few minutes. It will become obvious once dry as you will find it difficult to even move your facial muscles (don’t try or you will crack your egg yolk facial mask). There may even be tightness to your face with a pulling sensation, as well as a brighter yellow tone to the egg mask. Once dry, wash away with soap and water.

Recipe 2

Things you need:

  • 1 egg yolk
  • ¼ ripe avocado
  • 1 teaspoon yoghurt

Mash the avocado in a small bowl or food processor until it becomes a lump-free paste. Add the rest of the ingredients and mix them until smooth. Apply the mixture to your face using clean fingertips, using circular upward motions. Let it sit for 15 minutes or until dry. Rinse the mask off with warm water and pat dry with a towel. Enjoy the soft, supple feel of your skin! This egg-yolk face mask will hydrate and moisturize your dry skin and nourish it with multivitamins and healthy fats.
