DIY YOGA MAT SPRAY

Gym essentials and instruments are subjected to sweat and germs from different sources and can spread infections. Yoga mats too are included in gym essentials and needs cleaning every time you use it. Commercial disinfectants aren’t the best choice since they contain various toxic ingredients too and you wouldn’t want to frequently come in contact with it. Here are some easy natural DIY yoga mat sprays you can use before and after your stretching sessions:

DIY YOGA MAT SPRAY

Note: you can use these on gym equipment too.

TEA TREE OIL SPRAY

Things you need: To make this spray, you need tea tree oil and water.

Method: Add 10-20 drops tea tree oil to 1 cup water and pour it in a spray bottle. Spray the yoga mat surface, let stand for 15 minutes, then wipe with a microfiber cloth or sponge. You are done. A natural antiseptic and fungicide, tea tree oil will kill any germs on the mat.

ALOE VERA SPRAY

Things you need: To make this spray, you need ½ cup aloe vera gel, ¼ cup witch hazel and 1 cup water.

Method: Mash up aloe vera gel thoroughly so as to obtain a free flowing gel with no lumps. Now add the gel in witch hazel and mix it well. Add water to it and again stir it well. Pour this mixture into spray bottle and shake well before use.

LAVENDER SPRAY

Things you need: To make this spray, you need lavender essential oil and water.

Method: Add 20 drops lavender essential oil to 1 cup water and pour it in a spray bottle. Spray the yoga mat surface, let stand for 15 minutes, then wipe with a microfiber cloth or sponge. You are done. You may also add in lavender flower powder for added effects and fragrance.
