Natural rosewater, known for its mild astringent properties and simply beautiful aroma, removes Traces of dirt, oil & make-up and leaves skin and hair feeling naturally refreshed. Here’s an easy DIY recipe to make pure rose water at home. All you need is rose petals and distilled water.
What You’ll Need:
- Rose Petals
- Distilled water
- Large Pot
- Small bowl
First step: Choose roses that are free of chemicals or pesticides, especially if you’ll be using the oil or water in a food product. Pick the roses in the morning, after the morning dew has evaporated, and gently rinse the petals to remove any bugs or dirt.
Place the rose petals in a large pot and fill with just enough distilled water to cover the rose petals. Place a small heat safe bowl on top of the petals, and cover the large pot with a lid. Cover with a lid and let simmer until the petals lose their color As the petals simmer, steam will collect on the lid of the pot and drip in to the bowl, which is pure rose water.
Pour the freshly made rose water into a spray bottle and mist it on your skin and hair.
