Makeup brushes are an important part of face contouring. After a few weeks of using your makeup brushes, your face’s natural oils, makeup, and bacteria will start to build up. Cleaning your makeup brushes regularly will not only get rid of the bacteria, but it will also prevent your makeup colours from getting mixed. Read on to know how to properly clean your makeup brushes:
VINEGAR BRUSH CLEANER – If you have really dirty makeup brushes, you can try this method. Wash the brush under tap using 1 cup of hot water and 2 Tbsp of vinegar. Wash it again with tap water and you are done! Dry the brush.
SHAMPOO BRUSH CLEANER – Run the bristles of the brushes under lukewarm water. Avoid getting water underneath the metal clasp of the handle as this will ruin the glue that holds the bristles together. Fill a small bowl or cup with some water and add little baby shampoo to it. Dip the brush into the mixture and swirl. Wash the bristles with lukewarm water and pat dry. Make sure you reshape the bristles before placing it on a fat surface for drying.
OLIVE OIL BRUSH CLEANER – Dab the brush in olive oil and swipe on a towel. Mix together warm water and castile soap in a small bowl, and wash your makeup brush in it. Dip the brush in white vinegar a few times and wash with lukewarm water. Dab and dry. Done!
